Pray for Japan
Japan is known for its natural beauty, distinctive culture,
and advanced technology. There is much to admire.
But Japan is also a country of long working hours,
divided families and high suicide rates.

More than 99% of the Japanese people do not know about the new life that Jesus Christ offers to every human. This makes them the second largest people group in the world unreached by God’s Good News.
Therefore, pray with us for open doors for God’s calling in Japan, so that God’s love and renewal can spread there, and that both people and society will be positively and permanently impacted.

Hello, we are Julian and Karolina Tenzler from Germany. Julian has a PhD in mathematics and loves teaching and exploring things in depth. Karolina has a double diploma in mathematics and business administration, and has worked in the energy industry for several years.
By all accounts, we had everything we could have asked for, and the prospect of promising careers in our respective fields. But in 2017, our lives took a dramatic turn when Jesus clearly called us to quit our jobs and go to Japan as missionaries. That’s how it came about that we worked as full-time missionaries in Japan from 2020 to 2025. There, we helped Japanese Christians—especially in Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island—to grow as disciples of Jesus and in trusting God, in order to reach their own communities and personal networks with the Good News. In addition, we experienced how the Holy Spirit led us in the most unexpected ways to those who were lonely, wounded, and searching for truth.
Now we are back in Germany for the time being, in part to write a book about what God has shown us throughout our ministry. Yet we are convinced that sooner or later we will return to Japan. Our passion is personal discipleship and to encourage, train and equip people—whether in Japan or in Germany—to know God and learn to trust Him.
